*WS16 - the blue town of Chefchaouen, Morocco*
Chefchaouen is a small but main town in the Rif Mountains in northern Morocco. The town has become famous due to its blue-washed buildings and special handicrafts. We visited this town in 2014.
This history of why most buildings were painted blue is rather obscure and conflicting. But they are a delight for photographers. Blue in many hues. The 7th photo is that of a poster, not a real scene.
In the narrow alleys donkeys (and men working like donkeys) are the only means of transporting goods.
