*WS53 – hiking in the Pisac Valley, Cusco, Peru*
Now to central South America.
We were in Peru in 2009 (10 years ago) and our group went to the town of Pisac, about an hour’s drive from the old city of Cusco, the former capital of the great Inca Empire. Pisac is located at the eastern end of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We had a two to three hours’ hike along a mountain ridge to enjoy the vista of the Pisac valley and look at some minor Inca ruins, and meeting some locals.
The end of the hike led us to the popular Pisac farmers' market (open 3 times a week) where colourfully-dressed locals sell colourful food stuff. See the corns in so many different colours.
