*WS31 - Hiking on the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia*
Tatra Mountains is a mountain range forming a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. The range is part of a group of regional national parks recognised as an UNESCO Biosphere Reserves. Many hiking trails here. We (a small group) had 2 days of light hiking here in 2015.
Our 2nd day of hiking was from Popradske Pleso to Strbske Pleso. Up and down around the 1,300 m to 1,600 m zone. About half a day. Highland lakes, rivers, pine forests, rocky patches, etc.
We passed by a cemetery for victims of the Tatra Mountains in use since 1936. Not sure who they were. More than a hundred graves, most marked with unique hand crafted markers.
The last 4 photos show the flora, each captioned with a Chinese idiom: 黑白分明, 孤芳自赏, 成群结队, 引人遐思。
