贡嘎山，海拔7,556 米，是四川省最高的山峰，世界排名第十一。座落在四川西部，是横断山脉的主峰。

雅哈垭口是观赏贡嘎山峰的理想之地，距新都桥镇约四十公里。 2015年秋我们从新都桥去雅哈垭口，先在一处名为高尔寺山的地方作短暂停留，这里是藏传佛教圣地，五彩经幡飞扬，六字真言玛尼石成堆。靠近雅哈垭口处有一条钙化的河床，称为亚拢沟，长六点五公里，宽达二百米，是亚洲最大的钙化河床。

雅哈垭口的海拔是4,568 米, 距离贡嘎山二十多公里。 第六张照片右侧的尖峰就是雄伟的贡嘎山，在藏语中，意为“白雪峰”。我们的四轮车停下后，还要走上百多米高的山丘，那儿才是观赏贡嘎山的最佳地点。我们是六个人的小团，有三个人上去，我们没有，因为风很大，非常难走，又很冷。

Mount Gongga, 7556 m above sea level, is the highest mountain in Sichuan Province and ranked 11th in the world. The word “gongga” in Tibetan means “snow white”. It is located in the western part of Sichuan.  

Yaha Pass is an ideal place to view the peak of Mount Gongga. Yaha Pass is 40 km from Xinduqiao town. In the autumn of 2015, we drove from Xinduqiao to Yaha Pass. First, we made a photo stop at a place called Mount Gaoersi, a holy place for Tibetan Buddhism, with flying colourful prayer flags and piles of mantra mani stones.

Near to the Yaha Pass, there is a stream with calcified riverbed, 6.5 km long and 200 m wide. It is the largest calcified riverbed in Asia. 

The elevation of Yaha Pass is 4,568 m. The peak of Mount Gongga is about 20 km away from the pass. The pointed peak on the right side of the 6th photo is the majestic Mount Gongga. After getting down from our 4-wheel drive, we still need to climb up 100 plus meters for the best view of the peak, last photo.
